Uday Kumar from Kannur Kerala, is an artist who belongs to a family that has been performing and painting for the vibrant, ritualistic artform, Theyyam since many generations. Traditionally , Theyyam involves elaborate make-up , masks, costumes and painting on the faces of the performers but Uday Kumar is also known for creating life like wooden masks decorated with traditional Theyyam art.
